Known locally as Bogolan, this famous African fabric is delicately hand-painted using fermented mud, rust, and natural dyes with beautiful symbols typical of Mali’s rich culture.
Our artisans create natural dyes from native plants and fermented mud from local ponds.
Handmade in Mali
“An authentic mudcloth fabric is more than a simple textile; indeed it is an art-form used to tell the story of a people, explain the making of the world, or to simply express the artistic vision of the maker.”
