Santiago's Leather Studio

Santiago's Leather Studio

Santiago and his family have been in the leather business for four generations. Their great grandfather, Santo Paternó, began crafting leather goods in 1921 in the Argentine Pampas. The skills and methods he developed nearly 100 years ago have been passed down from generation to generation along with an an obsessive desire to continue to improve the quality and beauty of the family’s products.

Santiago’s quest to create harmony between innovation, creativity and practicality lead him to start his business in Buenos Aires in 1999. Located in the beautiful Buenos Aires neighborhood of Palermo, the studio’s eight leather craftsmen masterfully dye, stitch and hand stamp each of their hand selected hides and leather pieces, transforming them into exquisite butterfly chair covers. Masters of their trade, they works diligently to ensure that each chair is a true work of art.

Each chair cover is handmade from four pieces of 100% vegetable tanned saddle quality leather sourced from grass fed cows, every edge double stitched for reinforcement. The supporting iron frame is sleek, stable and durable, ensuring quality that will last a lifetime. Each chair takes the master artisans 3 days to complete and gets increasingly beautiful with age.
